When parents fight, children don’t sleep

A new study has found a link between the amount of parental fighting and the lack of children’s sleep. The researchers studied 54 children aged 8-9 years old. The parental arguments were measured based on reports by both the children and the parents. Sleep was assessed using a watch-like device that measures how long and how deep a person sleeps.

To quote the study’s conclusions:

Increased marital conflict was associated with disruptions in the quantity and quality of children’s sleep as well as subjective sleepiness…
